On June 24th, 2019, Filantropi Indonesia held an internal meeting related to the review of the Filantropi Indonesia Ethics Standard (SEFI). The SEFI document contains a code of ethics to encourage members and philanthropists who reflect high ethics as a form of accountability. Representatives of Filantropi Indonesia members who took part in this task force were Tomy Hendrajati, Okty Damayanti, Nana Mintarti, Mitra Tobing, and representatives of Filantropi Indonesia Management Board, Suzanty Sitorus and Hamid Abidin as Executive Directors.
The discussion begins with discussion of points from each headline or theme written in the SEFI Draft; the representatives reviewed the sentences listed and also proposed to add the appropriate points. Previously, the SEFI Draft was approved at the Filantropi Indonesia general meeting (RUA) on June 14th, 2013 and became a running document. The revisions made this time are more detailed by comparing several codes of ethics from other institutions. In this meeting it was also decided to include the revisions or proposals contained in the meeting in the formulation of the draft which would be reviewed again with the help from the secretariat, then the SOPs or operational guidelines for the code of ethics, management timelines, and assessment of other codes of conduct were formed by members as a reference.
