Public Discussion and Dissemination of Research POLICIES THAT SUPPORT AND INHIBIT Philanthropy IN SUPPORTING SDGs ACHIEVEMENT IN INDONESIA
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is a comprehensive and an integral national development agenda. With 17 integrated goals and 169 targets, it is understood that the SDGs are interrelated and interdependent. The involvement of philanthropy and other stakeholders (government, parliament, civil society, private sector, academia and UN agencies) is necessary for the success of achieving the SDGs, because it will depend on a partnership that is inclusive. However, the involvement and support of these stakeholders will not be optimal if it is not supported by conducive policies that support these stakeholders to work effectively.
In order for synergies and partnerships for the implementation of SDGs can run effectively, it is necessary to identify and analyze policies related to agencies and philanthropic programs in support of SDGs. From this analysis, we can map any policies that support and hinder philanthropy in supporting the SDGs. The results of the research are expected to provide an overview on policies that are potentials and opportunities as well as challenges and obstacles, especially for institutions or philanthropy sector, in achieving the SDGs so it can be anticipated and addressed.
The Faculty of Law in Atma Jaya Catholic University partnered with Indonesia Philanthropy Association has conducted a study on policies relating to the philanthropic sector that support and hinder philanthropy's role and contribution in support of SDGs. The research results will be disseminated to the public for feedback from participants.
