Philanthropy Learning Forum 17: Promoting Diversity through Interfaith Philanthropy
In the midst of increasing violence, intolerance, radicalism and discrimination in the name of religion, philanthropy activities carried out by communities, groups and organizations affiliated with certain religions are also growing rapidly. Although based on certain religions, in practice the sharing and helping activities of fellow committed by these institutions are conducted without distinction of a particular tribe, religion or race. They provide their support and assistance to individuals or other groups without discrimination, regardless of the ethnic, tribal or religious background of the beneficiaries.
Interfaith philanthropy is believed to be an instrument to promote religious harmony and tolerance in Indonesia. The practice of inter-faith philanthropy not only contributes significantly to the seedling of peace, religious tolerance and interreligious dialogue, but also promotes economic, health, education and welfare.
