Study Group: Utilization of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) for Sustainability Reports for the Philanthropy Sector in Achieving TPB/SDGs
Indonesian Philanthropy Association (FI) and the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) have held a study group “Utilizing the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) for Sustainability Reports for the Philanthropic Sector in Achieving TPB / SDGs” as a continuation of previous training on 26-27 June 2019. Participants who have sent the organization’s report adjusted to several GRI indicators that have been determined, re-adjustment of indicators in more detail. The study group is led by Ms. Lany Harijanti
Since 2018, FI and GRI have collaborated to conduct a series of Sustainability Reporting (SR) training for philanthropic institutions. The aim of the activity is for philanthropic institutions to produce reports that can not only show impact but also transparency and accountability.
Last June, the training of SR GRI preparation was held, which was attended by participants from FI members. During the training, all participants created a matrix of alignment between GRI and SDGs for the organization. The training has not yet been completed, because there are still reporting criteria that have not yet been spelled out. Following up on the previous training, a study group was created. Participants in attendance were encouraged to begin to be able to narrate GRI standards in their organization’s annual reports. The narrative of an annual report will be more interesting if it highlights the display of data or numbers. It has been agreed that the SR GRI study group will be held routinely every two weeks. FI and GRI open opportunities for all FI members who want to join to learn the preparation of SR GRI.
