In order to celebrate World Environment Day 2024, the Climate Change Philanthropy Cluster, Filantropi Indonesia, Dompet Dhuafa, Belantara Foundation, Dompet Dhuafa Volunteer (DDV), the Dompet Dhuafa Disaster Management Center collaborated with the Ciliwung Muara Bersama community, and other stakeholders organized simultaneous tree planting in 18 provinces throughout Indonesia.
Campaign.com together with Filantropi Indonesia, a social institution that shares the same values and principles, initiated the Changemakers Gathering with the topic DO IT for DUIT: Strategies for Managing NGO Finances to increase understanding of the importance of financial sustainability for NGOs, organizations, and community. Through this initiative, with the principle “For A Better World,” it is hoped that participants can share knowledge, strengthen understanding, and build resources that are beneficial for all parties involved.
Art has been proven to have a positive impact on society. Various arts initiatives in the archipelago encourage freedom of expression and social inclusion because they provide space for dialogue and reflection on the environment. Art helps heal trauma, is an important part of movements against injustice, and gives a voice to the marginalized. During the pandemic, art plays a major role in strengthening society’s resilience in facing crises; and maintaining your sanity while everyone is at home.
Filantropi Indonesia held a General Meeting of Members (GMM) on April 30 2024 which was attended by 170 its Members. This year’s GMM agenda included ratifying 58 new Filantropi Indonesia members consisting of 58 new members consisting of 46 organizational members, 10 corporate members, and 2 individual members. The Filantropi Indonesia Governance Board also explained that the organization’s work report for 2021 – 2023 had succeeded in recording progressive achievements through the four pillars of the Philanthropy Hub, and informed that the Filantropi Indonesia financial audit report for 2023 had been completed with Unqualified Opinion.
At the World Humanitarian Summit, there were several focuses of global attention related to humanitarian issues, including education and hope for children in crisis. The roles of philanthropic institutions and businesses in dealing with humanitarian issues are very important and complementary. Philanthropy and business can create a greater and more sustainable impact in addressing humanitarian issues in Indonesia.
In a series of #GreenRamadhan2024 campaign activities, the Filantropi Indonesia and the Philanthropy Climate Change Cluster successfully held “Philanthropy Sharing Sessions #39: Understanding Carbon: From Upstream to Downstream, and the Business and Philanthropy Involvement”. The event took place on Thursday, March 28, 2024, online and was attended by various important stakeholders from the government, business sector, philanthropic organizations, and the public.
