This case study seeks to illustrate the importance of increasing the sustainable productivity of strategic forests in Indonesia, particularly in Kubu Raya District. Background information on various initiatives from Indonesia, as well as from West Kalimantan Province and Kubu Raya District, will be presented with an emphasis on the current status of strategic forests and existing initiatives at the provincial and district levels. In addition, it highlights the various stakeholders that have been involved so far, coupled with opportunities and recommendations for sustainable investment in the area.
