Mass media activities in raising, managing and channeling public social generosity (philanthropy) are a manifestation of social care and part of the social functions and roles of the mass media. Because this is related to the credibility of the mass media, this activity must be carried out in ways that are good, right, transparent, accountable, and full of awareness and responsibility.
With this in mind, the Code of Ethics for Mass Media Philanthropy was formulated and agreed upon as a manifestation of responsibility to the community, donors, partners and ourselves.
The main function of this code of ethics is a general guideline, reference, and educational instrument for Public Donation Managers in Mass Media in raising/receiving, managing, and distributing public donations. In addition, this code of ethics also functions as a binding internal regulation for media practitioners when carrying out philanthropic activities.
