Aspirations for the RUU Penyelenggaraan Sumbangan
Jakarta – The development of philanthropy in Indonesia is increasing and has expanded into strategic non charity programs, such as economic empowerment, protection of women and children, policy advocacy, anti-corruption and so on. This is also marked by the increasing involvement of young people who move through communities and spearhead the digital philanthropic movement. However, this has not yet been supported by conducive regulations or policies.
Therefore, in the Forum Group Discussion (FGD) meeting held on November 15, 2019, representatives of Filantropi Indonesia members conveyed and proposed several changes that needed to be added in the Draft Contribution Law of Donation Implementation, in general, about the scope of the donors after the organizer donations, synchronization of the foundation law, technical provisions and the period of campaign licensing and so on. The proposed points have also been summarized in the draft.
This draft has also been used as advocacy to show in several factions, such as Nasdem, PDIP, PKS, Gerinda, PKB and the Legislation Committee also the Commission VII of House of Representative of Indonesia. Until now, the Draft Contribution Law of Donation Implementation is still being forwarded to be included in the National Legislation Program (Prolegnas) of the 2020-2024.
