The Indonesian Philanthropy Association (PFI) recognizes the considerable potential of available resources, although this comes alongside challenges from various aspects such as social, economic, political, and cultural factors that hinder the creation of sustainable development. With this concept, PFI has intentionally developed plans and strategies that will be implemented together to advance philanthropy and bring about meaningful change with standards that align with the goals of sustainable development.
Our Mission
To increase the quantity and quality of philanthropy in Indonesia as a means to strengthen the role of civil society in the country’s social, humanitarian, and environmental development through the enhancement of institutional infrastructure and the development of opportunities for philanthropy and the nonprofit sector.
Strategic Goals 2024-2027
The Indonesian Philanthropy Association (PFI) aims to become the leading platform for credible philanthropists and thought leaders. PFI strengthens the capacity, accountability, and sustainability of its organization and members to network and form partnerships, in order to promote the development of philanthropy culture and ecosystems in Indonesia, with the goal of achieving sustainable development.

Philanthropy Priority
- PFI will become a philanthropy association with >375 members and build strategic partnerships (national and international) to achieve the association’s goals.
- PFI will serve as a platform for networking, co-creation, and collaboration among members to develop the culture and ecosystem of philanthropy.
- Increase member engagement and satisfaction in PFI activities.
- PFI strengthens service offerings to members to enhance capacity and accountability through the four pillars of the Philanthropy Hub.

Strategic Plan Foundations
Each of our strategic plans focuses on strengthening the Philanthropy ecosystem, empowering local partners, and developing data-driven solutions to support sustainable development goals (SDGs).
Aimed at advancing a shared agenda, collective action, and policy advocacy, developing knowledge, thought leaders, and strengthening partnerships with business/investment groups and academia/training centers to further the shared agenda and collective actions.
Engagement from secretariat staff, the Board of Directors, the Supervisory Board, the Advisory Council, and members, measured by an NPS score of >45.
Relationships with philanthropists, subject matter experts, influencers, business schools, youth change-makers, and policy makers must continue to be strengthened.
