From July 12 to October 15, 2019, the Zakat Forum (FOZ) and Filantropi Indonesia (FI) conducted a study involving 104 OPZs (Zakat Management Organizations), all members of FOZ across Indonesia. The research aimed to assess the current state and recent developments—particularly in the digital era—of ZIS (Zakat, Infaq, and Sadaqah) in Indonesia and their managing institutions.
This study also engaged policymakers and key stakeholders in the fields of zakat and digital innovation in Indonesia, including UNDP Indonesia, Bank Indonesia, the Ministry of Communication and Informatics, the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the National Committee for Islamic Economy and Finance (KNEKS), BAZNAS (the National Zakat Board), the Sharia Council of the Indonesian Ulema Council, as well as digital platforms such as Kitabisa, Bukalapak, and Duithape.
