RESEARCH SUMMARY - Readiness of Indonesian Philanthropic Organizations in Supporting SDGs Achievement
This research examines the readiness of philanthropic institutions in supporting achievement SDGs by analyzing perception, understanding, acceptance as well as commitment and capacity organizations in supporting the achievement of the SDGs. This is based on the assumption that optimizing the role and contribution of philanthropic institutions in supporting SDGs will be very much depending on the level of understanding, acceptance, and commitment and organizational capacity and its resources in supporting SDG-related programs. Therefore, philanthropic sector work that has been focused on community development can aligned with the objectives of the SDGs.
This research uses mixed methods by combining quantitative and qualitative methods. The data were collected through document / literature review, surveys, in-depth interviews and FGD (Focus Group Discussion). The selection of respondents for surveys and informants for in-depth interviews and FGDs was carried out using a purposive method by taking into account the representation of each type of philanthropic institution. Respondents and research informants came from 85 philanthropic organizations, namely family philanthropic foundations, corporate philanthropic foundations, religious philanthropic foundations, mass media philanthropic foundations, and intermediary organizations.
