Indonesia Philanthrophy Outlook 2024

The Indonesia Philanthropy Outlook 2024 is an initiative by Filantropi Indonesia to strengthen the philanthropy ecosystem through accurate data and information. This outlook reflects the progress of philanthropy in recent years, key supporting elements, and priority agendas for strengthening the sector in the future. In 2022, around 84.9% of philanthropic organizations aligned their programs with the SDGs, and this number increased to 89% in 2024. Additionally, more than 70% of public respondents believe that philanthropic organizations have been effective in supporting government programs.

This publication recommends five priority agendas to strengthen the philanthropy ecosystem in Indonesia: enhancing multi-stakeholder networks and collaborations, capacity building for organizations including fundraising, improving regulations related to philanthropy, ensuring the completeness of philanthropic organization data, and strengthening the documentation of program outcomes and impacts.
